Getting to Kedarnath is not easy. Visitors have to walk about 14 kilometers from the nearest town called Gaurikund. The walk is difficult because the ground is steep and rocky. But, the views of the mountains are very pretty, so it's worth it.
The Kedarnath Temple is very old and was built a long time ago by the Pandavas. It is made of big, heavy stones and is surrounded by mountains with snow on top. The temple is open from April to November every year, but it is closed during the winter because there is too much snow.
Besides the temple, there are other things to see in Kedarnath. For example, there is a lake called Vasuki Tal Lake that is very pretty and is a good place to go hiking. There is also a lake called Gandhi Sarovar that is very high up and is believed to have been visited by Mahatma Gandhi.
Overall, Kedarnath is a very beautiful town that is important to many people. It has pretty views and lots of history, so it's a good place to visit if you're ever in Uttarakhand.
